hakoHub Listing Policy
Any revision will be announced as a new version under Section 12 of the Terms of Service; earlier versions are never modified.
1. What This Policy Is
1.1 hakoHub is a public directory of HakoSpace servers operated by HakoSpace (hub.hakospace.com). This policy explains which servers can be listed, what content can appear in the directory, how HakoSpace reviews it, and what happens when a Listing is hidden, taken down or blocked.
1.2 This policy is part of the HakoSpace Official Account Terms of Service (Section 7). It is agreed together with the version of the Terms of Service and is not subject to a separate consent process; the listing form also carries its own tick box, and we record on your Listing the version of the Terms of Service in force when you ticked it (this policy is identified by that version and has no separate effective date). If it conflicts with the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service prevail.
1.3 The directory only lists servers; it does not operate or control any server. A server being listed does not mean HakoSpace endorses it (see Section 11).
1.4 Terms used here: the "lister" is the person who lists a server with an Official Account; to "list" is to submit a server to hakoHub; a "Listing" is the corresponding entry in the directory (or pending review, or hidden).
1.5 Actions referred to in this policy: "hiding" means the Listing is temporarily not shown in the directory but is kept; "taking down" is an action by HakoSpace, after which the Listing is kept in the hidden state so that an appeal can be handled and probing drops to once a day; "withdrawal" is the lister taking the Listing down themselves, disabling publishing or regenerating the key (the latter two once HakoSpace confirms it), after which the Listing is removed; "removal" means the entry, the encrypted probe key and the tag links are deleted, leaving only a tombstone (Section 10).
2. Listing Conditions
A server can be listed only if all of the following are met:
- Its address is a domain name starting with
https://and uses a valid certificate; IP addresses and addresses with embedded credentials are not accepted. Any port may be used, but a domain proxied by Cloudflare can use only the ports Cloudflare supports. - It is a HakoSpace server running a version of hakoApp that includes hakoHub support.
- Its registration mode is not "closed". Open registration, email registration and invitation-code registration can all be listed; servers with registration closed are not listed.
- The lister is the administrator of the server, or has been authorized by the administrator, and has turned on "Make my server public" in hakoApp and generated a hub key.
- The lister has agreed to this policy and to Section 7 of the Terms of Service (the listing form also carries a tick box, and the version of the Terms of Service in force is recorded).
- The server's hub endpoint passes HakoSpace's checks at submission (reachable, correct signature, and the address in the response matches the one listed); the icon URL must load, and the file must be PNG, JPEG or WebP and no larger than 512 KiB (at submission HakoSpace checks only the type and size; when review staff view a Listing on the review page (both the approved icon and a pending new icon), HakoSpace downloads the icon from your server solely to show it on the review page and does not store the image).
- Each Official Account can currently list up to 3 servers.
Meeting the conditions does not mean a server will necessarily be listed; HakoSpace has no obligation to list any server (Terms of Service 7.6).
3. What the Directory Shows
3.1 The directory shows: the name, description, icon and tags (in their approved versions), how to join, the member-count range and, if the lister chooses to publish it, an online-count range; how to join and the count ranges follow what the server reports and are not reviewed separately. The member-count range is shown by default and the online-count range is off by default; the lister can switch each on or off in hakoApp.
3.2 Counts are shown only as ranges: 0, 1–4, 5–19, 20–99 and 100+. Member counts exclude bots, banned accounts and accounts that have not completed sign-up verification; online counts exclude invisible users and AI bots. These figures are reported by each server itself, calculated from its state at the time, and are rough ranges, not exact numbers and not any level of service.
3.3 The "Join" button depends on the registration mode: for open and email registration it links to that server's registration page; for invitation-code servers it says "Visit (invite code required)" and links to the server; "Copy address" is also offered. Once you go to a server, that server's own rules and policies apply.
3.4 Icons are loaded by the visitor's browser directly from the server; HakoSpace does not store the images (see Privacy Policy, Section 11).
4. Content Rules
4.1 These rules apply to everything that can appear in the directory: the name, description, icon, tags, and any other information the server reports to the directory.
4.2 This content must not:
- violate applicable law, or encourage, incite or glorify unlawful conduct;
- contain or link to sexualized content involving minors, or intimate images shared without consent;
- contain explicit sexual content or graphic violence (every visitor to the directory can see it);
- harass, threaten or bully anyone, publish anyone's personal data, or express hatred, discrimination or incitement to violence on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability or similar characteristics;
- promote or incite terrorism, extreme violence, self-harm or suicide;
- sell or promote unlawful goods or services, or engage in fraud, phishing or the spread of malware;
- infringe a third party's intellectual property, image rights or other rights;
- impersonate another person, community or brand, or imply an affiliation, partnership or endorsement with HakoSpace or any third party that does not exist;
- describe the server in a misleading way, for example by inventing numbers, misrepresenting its content or size, or using a name, description, icon or tag that does not match what the server actually is, to attract clicks; or
- consist of repetitive, meaningless or keyword-stuffed content made to spam, divert traffic or manipulate ordering.
4.3 The directory reviews the data shown in the directory, not the content inside servers. But if HakoSpace receives a credible report which, once checked and confirmed, shows that a server is mainly being used for unlawful activity, we may treat its Listing under Section 7.
4.4 These rules are the basis for judgment, not an exhaustive list; HakoSpace decides case by case and in accordance with applicable law.
5. Review
5.1 The following are shown only after review by HakoSpace staff: a first Listing; a changed icon (the icon URL the server reports differs from the approved one); a changed name or description; changed tags; and a changed server address (see 5.5). Changes to how to join and to the count ranges need no review.
5.2 While a change is under review, the directory keeps showing the last approved content; a first Listing that has not yet been approved does not appear in the directory. A changed server address is different (see 5.5).
5.3 The result is emailed to the Official Account's email address: approved, or returned with a reason. After a Listing is returned, correct the content where it lives: the name, description and icon are changed in hakoApp, and when our service next probes and reads content different from what was returned, it is sent for review again; tags are changed on the hakoHub page of the Official Account and are sent for review when saved. The same returned content is not sent for review repeatedly.
5.4 Approval means only that, at the time of review, HakoSpace did not find that the content violated this policy. It does not reduce the lister's responsibility for the content and is not an endorsement of the server (see Section 11). We review as promptly as we can, but do not commit to a fixed number of days.
5.5 Changing the server address. The lister can change the listed address on the hakoHub page of the Official Account, but must paste the original hub key of that Listing again; if the key does not match, nothing is changed. HakoSpace checks the new address again in the same way as at first listing, and once it passes the Listing goes back to review and is not shown in the directory until it is approved (content approved for the old address is not shown at the new address). A Listing hidden by HakoSpace's action cannot be restored by changing the address; to appeal, see Section 8.
6. Tag Rules
6.1 Tags can be set when listing and changed afterwards; you can create new ones or search for and apply existing ones.
6.2 Each server can have up to 5 tags, each 1 to 20 characters long. Only letters, digits and underscores (including Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters) are allowed, with no spaces; a leading "#" is optional. Full-width and half-width forms are treated as the same, and English is case-insensitive.
6.3 Tags are listing content and Section 4 applies to them; tags must not be used to mislead about categories, to impersonate another person or brand or falsely imply affiliation or endorsement, or to carry prohibited content.
6.4 Changing tags requires review (Section 5). A new tag appears in other people's search suggestions only after it has appeared on at least one approved Listing.
6.5 HakoSpace may merge tags that mean the same thing, or hide inappropriate tags; we do not necessarily notify you of this.
7. Hiding, Take-Down and Blocking
7.1 Unreachable. When HakoSpace's service keeps failing to reach a server: after about 1.5 hours (three failed probes in a row) the Listing is marked "unreachable"; after 72 hours it is hidden and probing is reduced to once a day, and it returns automatically once the server is reachable again; we notify you about 7 days before removal; after 30 days it is removed, leaving only a record that does not identify the account. These times are counted from the last successful connection (and restart on listing, a change of address, restoration of the account and the like). If HakoSpace judges that its own service is malfunctioning (for example, many servers fail in the same round), it may pause automatic hiding and removal.
7.2 Publishing disabled or key changed. When the server reports that publishing is disabled or the key has been regenerated, the Listing is first hidden, and is withdrawn (removed) only after a further check at least 1 hour later. If a listed server changes its registration mode to closed, the Listing is also hidden temporarily; it returns automatically at the next successful probe once the mode is open, email or invite-only again.
7.3 Linked to the account. When the Official Account has a deletion request pending or is disabled, the Listing is hidden right away and probing stops (if the link-up fails temporarily, the daily reconciliation catches up at the latest); after the deletion is cancelled or the account is re-enabled, it is restored when HakoSpace's next probe succeeds (a Listing that was already hidden for another reason before the account was disabled stays hidden); when the account is permanently deleted, the Listing is deleted with it.
7.4 Breach of this policy. If a Listing breaches this policy or the Terms of Service, breaches law or a legal requirement, is the subject of a report that has been checked and confirmed, or raises information-security concerns, HakoSpace may return, hide or take it down, and hide or merge tags. For serious or repeated breaches, HakoSpace may block the server's domain name or hub key fingerprint so that it cannot be listed again. A block applies to the domain name (without the port, so changing the port does not avoid it; its subdomains are covered too); it has no expiry, and staff can lift it. When a block is made, any existing Listings that match are taken down at the same time; lifting a block does not automatically restore Listings that were taken down. A Listing taken down by staff does not return to the directory by itself when the server becomes reachable again. Where practicable we will give the reason and explain how to appeal.
7.5 Withdrawal. The lister can withdraw a Listing at any time on the hakoHub page of the Official Account, or disable publishing or regenerate the key in hakoApp (the Listing is withdrawn once HakoSpace confirms it). After a Listing is removed, you must list again and go through review again to come back.
7.6 After a block, the lister may write to ask for it to be lifted (see Section 8). Whether to lift it is for HakoSpace to decide.
8. Reports and Appeals
8.1 If you find a Listing that breaches this policy or infringes your rights, write to legal@hakospace.com with the server's name or address, what breaches the policy and how to reach you; if you claim that your rights are infringed, include an explanation. We will review it and act under this policy; your message is handled as described in Sections 2 and 9 of the HakoSpace Official Account Privacy Policy.
8.2 If you object to a return, take-down or block, write to the same address from the Official Account's email address, giving the server address and your reasons. We will take another look and handle it as promptly as we can. If an appeal succeeds, we will reinstate a Listing that was taken down. A reinstated Listing is not made public directly: it must first pass a probe before it returns to the directory, and content that was never approved, or whose address change is still under review, must be reviewed again. If the domain or hub key is still on the block list, the block must be lifted first. A Listing that has already been removed (for example, because it was unreachable for 30 days after being taken down) cannot be reinstated and must be registered again.
9. Notices
HakoSpace emails the Official Account's email address to notify: the result of a review (approved, or returned with a reason); a Listing being taken down (with the reason and the appeal channel); a Listing being reinstated (when an appeal succeeds, with the reason entered by staff); a Listing being hidden because it is unreachable; the information the server reports not meeting the rules (with a reason category; in most cases the directory keeps showing the last approved content; if the registration mode is changed to closed, the Listing is temporarily not shown); and a Listing being about to be removed or already removed. HakoSpace does not commit that a notice will be delivered.
10. Data and Retention
What data the directory handles, how probing works and how long data is kept are set out in Sections 9 and 11 of the HakoSpace Official Account Privacy Policy. In short: when a Listing is removed (the lister withdraws it, publishing is disabled or the key is regenerated and HakoSpace confirms it, the server is unreachable for 30 days, or the Official Account is permanently deleted), the entry, the encrypted probe key and the tag links are deleted immediately, leaving only a tombstone that contains no account identifier and only hashes of the address and key, kept for 90 days; a Listing taken down by staff is kept in the hidden state for appeals and is removed only after 30 days unreachable or when the lister withdraws it; the block list stores domain names in the original form, has no expiry, and staff can lift a block; review records are kept for 365 days; notification records have the server address, name and reason cleared when sent, keeping only the notice type, the recipient account, the entry number and the times created and sent, and are deleted 30 days after sending, or at most 90 days after creation if not yet sent.
11. No Endorsement
11.1 A server being listed, shown in the directory, approved, or appearing under a tag does not mean that HakoSpace has checked, approved, endorsed or vouched for the server, its administrator, its content or its users.
11.2 The directory's information (including count ranges) is reported by each server itself, and HakoSpace gives no assurance that it is accurate, complete or current, or that the directory is always available; the directory may be interrupted or delayed, or temporarily show outdated content.
11.3 Each server is run by its own administrator. HakoSpace does not operate or control it and is not responsible for its content or its administrator's conduct. Visitors decide for themselves which server to join.
12. Changes to This Policy
This policy is identified by the version of the HakoSpace Official Account Terms of Service it belongs to and has no separate effective date; changes follow Section 12 of the Terms of Service. Earlier versions are never modified; historical versions are available on the website's archive pages.
13. Language Versions
This policy is provided in Traditional Chinese and English. If there is any ambiguity or inconsistency between the two language versions, the Traditional Chinese version shall prevail.

Appendix A. Interface Text for hakoApp and the Listing Form
This appendix is the text the product interface displays. Interface copy must not go beyond this policy and the Terms of Service (Hakodex general/promises-within-eula, this repo's rules/promises-rule.md); changing this text means issuing a new version together with this policy.
A.1 Warning (hakoApp "Make my server public" page, and the Official Account listing form)
Please read the hakoHub Listing Policy before making your server public. The information you submit is shown only after HakoSpace reviews it; content that does not meet the policy will be returned or taken down, and for serious or repeated breaches the server's domain name or hub key may be blocked and cannot be listed again. A server being listed does not mean HakoSpace endorses it.
A.2 Disclosure (hakoApp enable page, on the same page as the warning)
Once you turn this on in hakoApp and list the server with your Official Account, HakoSpace's service will periodically connect to your server to read its address, name, description, icon URL, how to join, count ranges, hakoApp version and the host name your server reports, and, once approved, show them on hub.hakospace.com. For hakoHub, your server does not connect to HakoSpace on its own to notify or upload directory information. We recommend that you tell the members of your server before making it public. When visitors browse the directory, the icon is loaded directly from your server, and your server will see the visitor's IP address. You can disable publishing, regenerate the key, or withdraw the Listing in your Official Account at any time.
A.3 Checkbox text (Official Account listing form; must be ticked to submit)
I am the administrator of this server (or have been authorized by its administrator), I have read and agree to the hakoHub Listing Policy and Section 7 of the Terms of Service, and I understand that the information I submit is subject to review.
